NEWCASTLE STAGED A late comeback to win out 2-1 in last night’s Championship top-of-the-table clash with Brighton.

Rafa Benitez’s side had fallen behind to a Glenn Murray penalty when Mohamed Diame scored a bit of a freak goal before Ayoze Perez’s 89th-minute winner.

Chstian Atsu’s volley was heading well wide when Daryl Murphy got a slight touch and the ball looped into the net off the foot of Senegalese midfielder Diame.

Definitely a fluke, but they all count. With tongue-in-cheek, Diame tweeted afterwards:
