78-year-old Mick O'Dwyer is getting involved in inter-county football again

Louth have recruited one of the most famous names in the game.

LEGENDARY MANAGER MICK O’Dwyer is set for an unexpected return to the GAA — at the age of 78.

O’Dwyer has taken up an advisory role with the Louth senior footballers, Colm Keys reports in Tuesday’s Irish Independent.

Wee county boss Colin Kelly says O’Dwyer’s involvement is “nothing formal” but it comes as a timely boost ahead of their Leinster Championship opener against Westmeath on 17 May.

O’Dwyer, who led Kerry to a remarkable eight All-Ireland titles in the 70s and 80s, last managed at inter-county level with Clare before stepping down in late 2013.
