Massive Man United fan Rory McIlroy has landed a dream group for the BMW pro-am

Oh, and Niall Horan will be there too.

PAUL SCHOLES AND Phil Neville will test themselves against the best — and One Direction’s Niall Horan — on the golf course later this month.

The former Manchester United stars have been paired with world number one Rory McIlroy for the annual BMW PGA Championship pro-am at Wentworth.

Horan, who caddied for McIlroy at the Masters par three competition, will complete the celebrity fourball on 20 May.

Horan said: “I’ll probably be more nervous at Wentworth than I was performing in front of thousands with 1D, so I’m hoping Rory will give me a few tips on calming the nerves.”

Scholesy might have a point to prove after Horan dialled up the bant-o-meter on Tuesday and joked: “Can’t imagine he even owns a set of clubs.”

Neville, who clearly knows better than to wind up a man who probably dished out his fair share of training ground retribution, played it safe:

“Hits it 300 yards-great touch round the green brilliant putter and says he’s off 18!!!!”
