HIS WORLD TITLE bout against UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo looks unlikely to go ahead on 11 July, but a tweet from Conor McGregor this morning seems to suggest that the Irish mixed martial arts star will be fighting anyway.
McGregor is scheduled to face Aldo in the main event at UFC 189 in Las Vegas in just over a fortnightโs time. However, the Brazilian suffered a rib injury in training yesterday which could see the fight scrapped.
If Aldo is forced to withdraw, one alternative option for the UFC would be to bring in a replacement opponent for McGregor, which is likely to be the most ideal outcome for the thousands of Irish fans who have already booked flights and accommodation.
The picture should become clearer this evening when a medical update on Jose Aldo is expected, but McGregor has taken to Twitter in the meantime, telling us that itโs โbusiness as usualโ from his point of view.
Thatโs shocking to be honest. He shouldnโt have went to Thailand if he was going meeting up with the international team.. I didnโt even know he was Jamaican
I Believe it was a tour for the owners who are from there. But I agree with you general.
If heโs too tired to play now how will he cope with the extra games next season. Leicster may want to sign a couple new center backs. Huth and Morgan are both in their 30s and whoโs the current back up?
Prob smoking to much Green.
