TEENAGE SENSATION KYLIAN Mbappé scored a goal in either half to leave Monaco in control of their Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund.

On an emotional evening in Signal Iduna Park, Dortmund fans stood united behind their team following the explosions which forced the game to be postponed on Tuesday night and left defender Marc Bartra injured.

But it was the visitors who edged proceedings, taking three valuable away goals back to France for next week’s second leg.

Dortmund had an early let off when Fabinho missed a penalty in the 17th minute but less than two minutes later, Mbappé had given Monaco the lead.

The 18-year-old, who is already being hailed as European football’s next big thing, pounced to open the scoring before a Sven Bender own goal doubled Monaco’s advantage.

Ousmane Dembele pulled one back for Dortmund shortly before the hour mark but Mbappé resorted Monaco’s cushion, finishing following a swift breakaway in the 79th minute.

Shinji Kagawa, formerly of Manchester United, got a second for Dortmund six minutes from time, giving Thomas Tuchel’s side a puncher’s chance ahead of the return leg next Wednesday night.
