'Mayweather's clinch is completely novice': John Kavanagh outlines McGregor's potential advantages

Conor McGregor’s coach believes the UFC lightweight champion has an edge over Mayweather in a number of areas.

JOHN KAVANAGH BELIEVES Conor McGregor’s proficiency in stand-up grappling could prove an advantage over Floyd Mayweather when the pair trade leather in the boxing ring on 26 August.

Speaking to The42, Kavanagh outlined McGregor’s perceived edge in ‘the clinch’ as his fighter prepares for his lucrative professional boxing debut in Las Vegas, along with other areas in which he feels his man could gain the upper hand over the 49-0, five-division boxing world champion.

One of the hardest guys to hold onto is Conor. That’s all we deal with, is wrestlers trying to hold onto us. So Mayweather’s clinch is completely novice compared to Conor’s clinch, because the clinch is such an integral part of martial arts.
