Mayo's new senior football manager has been ratified

Stephen Rochford comes in on an initial three-year term.

MAYO HAVE CONFIRMED Stephen Rochford as the manager of their senior footballers tonight.

Rochford succeeds Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly as expected and takes over his native county for an initial three-year term, which will be reviewed annually.

The Crossmolina native was recently managing 2015 AIB All-Ireland club champions Corofin, who were beaten by Castlebar Mitchels in the Connacht final earlier this month.

His management team will be made up of Tony McEntee (selector/coach), Donie Buckley (selector/coach), Barry Solan (head of strength and conditioning), Dr Sean Moffatt (head of medical)  Sean Carey (selector), Maurice Horan (stats), Caroline Brosnihan (dietician) and Eoin Rochford (logistics).
