Someone has scrawled ‘Mayo for Sam’ on the road at the Tour de France

They’re everywhere, those lads.

THE PROPAGANDA WAR ahead of Sunday’s Connacht football final has spread to the Tour de France.

In London’s corner we have President Michael D Higgins and comedian Dara O’Briain; in Mayo’s, we have Manchester United legend and Molde manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Now some enterprising Mayo fans have sent the message around the world — by scrawling their support on the road at the Tour de France.

As Christophe Riblon powered past Tejay van Garderen on the second and final climb up Alpe d’Huez today, the camera caught the short and simple message: “Mayo for Sam.”

To translate: we’re not worried about you, London. We’ve got our eyes on bigger and better things.
