When will Mayo appoint their next football manager?

The county board met last night to set a timeline for the process.

MAYO HAVE SET a 1 November deadline for nominations for the vacant football manager’s job, with a view to appointing a successor to Noel Connelly and Pat Holmes within the next month.

Chairman Mike Connelly told last night’s county board meeting that they aim to fill the position by the third week of November, the Mayo News reports.

Meanwhile Ballaghaderreen’s Michael Solan was ratified as the new U21 manager. Former senior boss John Maughan and Anthony McGarry had also been in contention for the job.

Solan’s backroom team will include Joe Keane as coach/selector, John Ginty as selector, Liam Moffatt as head of medical and Barry Solan as head of strength and conditioning.

Enda Gilvarry was ratified to continue for a further season as Mayo minor manager.
