CONNACHT HAVE SECURED the future of in-form winger Matt Healy after the 26-year-old signed a two-year contract extension with the province.
The deal will see Healy remain at the Sportsgrounds until at least the summer of 2018.
It’s rich reward for one of Connacht’s most consistent performers this season as the former Ireland U20 international has established himself as a regular in Pat Lam’s side.

Healy, who switched positions from scrum-half, has scored three Pro12 tries this term and has started in 10 of Connacht’s 14 outings both domestically and in Europe.
“I am really happy to have re-signed for Connacht for another two years. It’s hard to believe this is already my fourth season at the club but it really has become home to me. I’m enjoying my rugby and genuinely feel I am improving as a player all the time,” he said.
“It’s an exciting time to be playing for Connacht and I’m looking forward to achieving big things with the team this season and in to the future.”
He moved to Galway from AIL side Lansdowne in 2012 and after impressing for the Connacht Eagles in his first season at the club, moved through the ranks to the senior team.
His form saw him included in the Emerging Ireland squad for the Tbilisi Cup during the summer and the former Gonzaga schoolboy will start against Leinster tomorrow evening at the RDS.

He has made 57 appearances for Connacht and scored 20 tries.
“It’s great to have Matt commit to the team and the vision of Connacht Rugby. Since he came to Connacht four seasons ago, he has grown massively as a player and as an individual,” Lam commented.
“What I admire about Matt is his attitude and commitment to learn and improve. He is always working on his game and looking at how he can get better from week to week and it is reflected in his performances on the pitch.”
