BORUSSIA DORTMUND SPORTING director Michael Zorc has told Manchester United that Mats Hummels will definitely still be at the Bundesliga club next season.
The centre-back is believed to be one of Louis van Gaal’s top targets this summer, with the Germany international having put top clubs on alert by revealing he was considering his future a couple of months ago.

However, following a hint from Zorc that Hummels had made his mind up in favour of staying at Signal Iduna Park, the club chief has finally confirmed their captain will not be leaving for Old Trafford or anywhere else in Europe.
“At 26 years of age, it is normal to be considering your career, to be worrying about your future,” he told Ruhr Nachrichten.
“But let’s stick to the facts: Dortmund and Hummels have a clear consensus that he will be playing for us next season.”
Ilkay Gundogan, however, is certain to depart Dortmund at the end of the season, but Zorc defended the midfielder following criticism from supporters.
“Gundogan’s desire is to leave in the summer, it’s been decided,” he added. “I don’t think it’s fair to for some fans to claim he’s not showing gratitude, though.
“It’s not about gratitude. To spell it out: Dortmund did not pay Gundogan his full salary when he had his long spell out injured. He was covered by insurance company and trade association.
“He has chosen to go in a different direction, which we have to accept. Ilkay is a great footballer and he has communicated very openly about his thoughts from the very beginning.”
Dortmund have two games left in 2014-15 – on Saturday they host Werder Bremen knowing a win is likely to guarantee them a Europa League spot next season, before their DFB-Pokal final against Wolfsburg.
