Marty Moore set to follow Ian Madigan out of Leinster - report

This morning’s Irish Times suggests a move is imminent but the province will not comment on speculation.

FRESH FROM THE news that Ian Madigan will leave the province for a move to France, Leinster could be set to lose another young player.

According to a report in this morning’s Irish Times, tighthead prop Marty Moore is closing in on a move to Premiership side Wasps at the end of the season.

Moore, who missed the World Cup with a broken metatarsal, returned to action with Leinster in October and has featured 12 times since, coming on as a replacement in eight of those games.

Wasps currently sit sixth in the Premiership, 17 points behind leaders Saracens, but it is reported by the newspaper that the offer of a three-year deal — compared to Leinster’s proposed two-year contract — has swayed the 24-year-old.

Speaking to The42 this morning, a spokesman for Leinster said they “don’t comment on contract speculation one way or another.”

He added: “We will announce all our player contracts once they’ve been concluded as we’ve done the last few years.”
