'Pass the ball to someone that can play' - Martin O'Neill mocks Robbie Savage

The Ireland boss is on analysis duty for Wycombe v Aston Villa today.

MARTIN O’NEILL GENTLY ribbed former player Robbie Savage on BT Sport today, demonstrating his caustic sense of humour in the process.

The Ireland manager is on punditry duty to watch two sides he previously coached, Wycombe and Aston Villa, in today’s early FA Cup kick-off.

And Savage, who played under O’Neill at Leicester, recalled how the 63-year-old coach once commented that there was “one thing” the former Wales international lacked “and that was ability”.

O’Neill jokingly added that he would tell Savage: “Please pass the ball to someone that can play.”

Of course, it is not the first time that O’Neill has mocked someone while doing football analysis as Robbie Williams and Patrick Vieira will know.
