A NUMBER OF reports in the media today claim the FAI are keen to extend the contracts of manager Martin O’Neill and his coaching staff.

After Thursday’s 1-0 win over Germany, Ireland are guaranteed a play-off place for Euro 2016 but they could yet clinch automatic qualification in their final group game away to Poland tomorrow evening.

Having signed a two-year deal back in November 2013, O’Neill’s contract is up at the end of the current campaign.

However, it is believed that the powers that be plan to open talks in order to keep him and assistant boss Roy Keane on for another two years.

So, should Martin O’Neill and his backroom staff be offered new contracts?
