Dog bite means Castrogiovanni likely to miss Italy's Six Nations clash with Scotland

It’s not the usual type of injury that a prop has to worry abot.

MARTIN CASTROGIOVANNI IS set to miss Italy’s Six Nations tie against Scotland next weekend and it’s all down to an injury inflicted by a most unlikely source.

The Guardian reports that Castrogiovanni required 14 stitches after being bitten on the nose by a friend’s dog.

The 33 year-old has thus been omitted from Italy’s provisional squad for the game in Murrayfield next Saturday after what was described as ‘a minor household incident’.

It now looks like he’ll have to wait a little longer to win his 110th cap for the Azzuri.

Whether Castrogiovanni will use the time off as an opportunity to change his Twitter profile picture remains to be seen.
