Europe made heart eyes at Marek Hamsik while he made bits of Russia's defence

Russia on the brink of exit after losing 2-1 in Lille.

SLOVAKIA MADE Russia look like a pub team during the first half in Lille — and a lot of it was down to Marek Hamsik.

The Napoli star ran the show with a superb assist and an even better goal as Slovakia won the Group B clash 2-1.

Slovakia took the lead on 32 minutes when Hamsik picked out Vladimir Weiss with a raking pass and he cut back inside two Russian defenders before finishing.

It took magnificent vision — although the fact that right-full Igor Smolnikov nipped out for a loaf of bread and pint of milk certainly didn’t help Russia’s cause.

They were caught fast asleep again as Hamsik doubled Slovakia’s lead on the stroke of half-time, cutting back inside from a short corner before firing one of the goals of the tournament off the post and in.

Substitute Denis Glushakov pulled one back for Russia 10 minutes from time, but it looks like they will need a win over Wales in their last game to have any chance of progressing to the last 16.
