Real Madrid's Marcelo disgraced himself tonight with some pathetic play-acting

The Spanish side lost 2-0 to Wolfsburg tonight and face an uphill struggle to stay in the Champions League.

WITH JUST OVER twenty minutes to go in Real Madrid’s clash with Wolfsburg tonight, the Spanish side were trailing 2-0 and were inevitably frustrated.

So, their left-back Marcelo decided to conjure the most blatant dive that we’ve seen in a long time in an effort to get Wolfsburg’s Max Arnold sent-off.

With the referee having blown for a Real free-kick, the full-back went to pick the ball up but not before kicking out at Arnold as the midfielder shadowed him.

Arnold refused to take the bait so Marcelo turned around and, in true Zinedine Zidane style, head-butted him in the midriff as well. He instantly held his hand to his face, fell backwards and yelled at the linesman in an effort to peddle the charade that Arnold had hit him.

MarceloDive

Incredibly, with the linesman in close proximity, no action was taken against Marcelo, despite the blatant and disgusting play-acting.

Instead, and quite inexplicably, Arnold was booked.

Horrible.

Here’s hoping Marcelo has the book thrown at him retrospectively.
