TONIGHT’S PREMIER LEAGUE fixture between West Ham and Manchester United, the celebrated final game at Upton Park, has been delayed by 45 minutes.
The visiting team bus was late arriving to the Boleyn Ground after it was pelted with missiles as it made its way through the packed streets around the stadium.
Kick-off for the match is now scheduled for 20.30, with Manchester United looking for a win that would propel into the Champions League places.

When he arrived in the stadium, Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney told Sky Sports:
“The coach got smashed up but we’ll just have to go and prepare and get on with our job. It’s not for me to say, I’m sure you’ll see. I’m sure West Ham will be disappointed with their fans.”

West Ham co-owner David Sullivan, however, uttered no such disappointment, claiming:
Man Utd should have got here at 4pm. They made the same mistake at Spurs. I’d make them kick off at 7:45 – I think the police have been kind to them.”
