After early shock, Man City completely turn FA Cup replay around and thump Huddersfield

Pep Guardiola’s side were behind after just seven minutes.

AHEAD OF TONIGHT’s FA Cup clash, Huddersfield had only lost once in 2017. They’re currently third in the Championship table and still in contention for automatic promotion to the top-flight.

And they seemed intent on creating a shock in Manchester.

David Wagner’s side stunned Pep Guardiola’s Man City in the Fifth Round replay and hit the front after just eight minutes.

Harry Bunn, a former City youngster, finished past Claudio Bravo with the much-maligned goalkeeper coming in for some criticism afterwards.

But, Leroy Sane levelled on 33 minutes before Sergio Aguero put the hosts in front five minutes later from the penalty spot. And completing the remarkable turnaround, Pablo Zabaleta got in on the act on 38 minutes to make it 3-1: three goals in eight devastating minutes.

But it didn’t end there.

Aguero got his second with 16 minutes left while Kelechi Iheanacho made it 5-1 in injury time.

City will now face Middlesbrough in the quarter-finals.
