In-demand: PSV's Memphis Depay.

Manchester United have stepped up their pursuit of Memphis Depay... but so have PSG

The Dutch international has been class this season.

PSV TECHNICAL DIRECTOR Marcel Brands claims Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and one other unnamed European club are interested in signing Memphis Depay.

The Netherlands international has been in outstanding form this season, netting 20 goals in 27 league appearances to help PSV storm to the Eredivisie title.

His performances have caught the eye of clubs across Europe, with some suggesting he could be in line for a reunion with former national coach Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford.

In August last year, Depay signed a contract which ties him to PSV until 2018 and Tottenham reportedly had a bid of ยฃ15million turned down for the attacker.

โ€œThat was last summer. Now Depay is worth more than that,โ€ Brands told broadcaster NOS.

โ€œItโ€™s true there has been contact with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain and a third, big European club. But this time we are talking about bigger amounts of money.

โ€œIn this situation we cannot carry on with a club. Itโ€™s not the most important thing who we talk to, the player has to choose which club he will pick.

โ€œHe will make his mind up soon and we know that we are able to agree a fee with that club.โ€

Staying and scoring 40 goalโ€™s is that before, during or after the tantrum โ€˜s?

On Fergie, no other Utd manager will get the same disproportionate financial advantage as Fergie had. He robbed Villa and Spurs of their best playerโ€™s. With all the money all PL clubโ€™s get that advantage has been eroded. Furthermore, the top 4 all get greater money in CL qualification than available 10 yearโ€™s ago. Therefore, if Utd canโ€™t qualify the financial advantage they used to have gets eroded even further. The problem is the expectation of their fanโ€™s versus the new reality.

@Daniel Kelly: you are talking absolutely bs, 1st regards taking villa/spurs best players jesus you would think utd absolutely drained them throughout the years, Sheringham, berbatov,Carrick,Yorke with villa, who else?? Thatโ€™s in nearly 25yrs..To this day all the top clubs have and are still buying the best players from the lesser clubs it has always happened and yes champions lge money helps give your head a good wobble there its not as if fergie or utd created this..

@Pauly Kel: Just like Big Jack Charlton had the best crop of Irish playerโ€™s everโ€ฆ. Fergie had a financial stranglehold on the PL with revenues exceeding all other clubโ€™s. He plundered the above plus West Ham, Leeds, Forrest, Wigan et al for their best playerโ€™s. My point stands Kane ainโ€™t swapping Spurs now for old toilet! Thanks for listeningโ€ฆโ€ฆ
