Dortmund confirm Mkhitaryan move to Man United after they received 'tremendous fee'

‘Had we rejected it, the player could have left for free in 2017,’ say the German club who received a reported £30 million.

BORUSSIA DORTMUND HAVE today announced that they have accepted a ‘tremendous fee’ for Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and that he will move to Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho’s side had offered a reported £30 million (€35 million) for the 27-year-old and the German side today announced that an offer had been accepted.

“Manchester United made us an offer of tremendous value. Had we rejected it, the player could have left for free in 2017,” Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke said in today’s statement.
