Celtic youngster happy despite Man United and Chelsea interest

Kieran Tierney is celebrating picking up another individual award and is taking little notice of rumours surrounding his future at Parkhead.

CELTIC FULL-BACK Kieran Tierney is adamant that he is happy at the club after being linked with a £17 million move to Chelsea.

Tierney has been named the Professional Footballers’ Association Scotland Young Player of the Year for the second season in a row and is rumoured to be a target for several English clubs.

Chelsea are reported to have joined the chase for the defender alongside Arsenal and Tottenham, while there has been speculation Tierney would rather join Manchester United.

But after collecting his Young Player of the Year award Tierney brushed off the rumours about his future and insisted he is focused on playing for Celtic.

“It’s flattering, but I don’t bother about it too much,” Tierney told Sky Sports.

My pals have been texting me and stuff like that, and it would play more in your head if you weren’t happy at your club, but I’m happy at Celtic.

“It’s just a story and I’m just concentrating on Celtic and my next training session.”
