'I do wonder if Man United are as good as the scorelines suggest'
The numbers may be showing Man United in a good light, according to Miguel Delaney, after their favourable run of games in the early part of this year’s Premier League.
MIGUEL DELANEY HAS his doubts that Manchester United are as good as their recent scorelines have suggested.
United have netted four times in four of their last five matches, but The Independent’s chief football writer is still to be convinced of how good they are as they head into tomorrow’s match against Liverpool.
United have had a favourable run of games so far in this year’s Premier League, and speaking on Close Calls earlier today, Delaney recalled their one-nil win over Southampton a few weeks ago:
“The one time I’ve seen them live this season was away to Southampton. And to be honest, they were awful. It was a terrible performance. Lukaku, again showing his value, got the goal that made the difference.
“I think they are better, but I’m still not entirely sure.”
That being said, he does admit that they may be facing Liverpool at the right time, with the Reds struggling to keep the ball out of their own net at times this year.
