Mamadou Sakho's Liverpool future in doubt as he's sent home from club's US tour

Jurgen Klopp has been left irritated by the French defender’s behaviour.

MAMADOU SAKHO HAS been sent home from Liverpool’s pre-season tour of the United States by manager Jurgen Klopp.

The French defender had been receiving treatment on an Achilles injury that will keep him out for the start of the Premier League season but – so as to benefit team spirit and morale – was included in the touring party along with other players who were carrying knocks.

But, Sakho has reportedly got on Klopp’s wrong side on two separate occasions during the team’s stint in California and has been instructed to return to the UK and continue his recovery at the team’s Melwood base.

His future at Anfield is now unclear.

Adding fuel to the fire, Lucas Leiva and Joe Gomez – who are also rehabbing respective injuries – will remain with the team in the US.

Sakho has had a strange few months.

Initially charged and banned by Uefa for failing a drugs test, the case was dismissed earlier this month.
