Makwan Amirkhani was awarded a $50,000 bonus for a UFC debut that lasted just eight seconds

It’s not often you can fit all the action from an entire fight into a Vine.

IF THIS MAN looks smug, it’s with good reason.

Makwan Amirkhani made his UFC debut last night in Stockholm. The Finnish featherweight charged straight out of the blocks with a flying knee at English opponent Andy Ogle, who he then finished with strikes — and it all happened in just eight seconds.

The win was the first of Amirkhani’s career via (T)KO, and it earned him a Performance Bonus of $50,000 from the UFC. Afterwards, the 26-year-old said he’d use the extra cash to buy his mother a new bed.

With her son’s new-found wealth, Mammy Amirkhani can probably expect a new alarm clock and hot water bottle too. The finish is being reported as the fifth-fastest in UFC history.

While payment details haven’t yet been released by the UFC, we assume that Makwan Amirkhani was on a standard debut contract of $8,000, which would then be doubled to factor in his win bonus.

That would bring his total income for the fight to $66,000, meaning that Amirkhani earned $8,250 per second last night at the Tele2 Arena. Of course, that doesn’t account for the many weeks of unpaid training, but let’s not allow the facts to get in the way of an eye-catching statistic.

Amirkhani wasn’t the only UFC Stockholm winner to pick up a Performance Bonus. Anthony Johnson, Gegard Mousasi and Kenny Robertson are also now $50,000 richer.

Of course we’re biased here, but Neil Seery might feel disappointed to have missed out on a bonus too. While the fans and the promotion love to see finishes, Seery entertained for 15 minutes in his win over Chris Beal but unfortunately wasn’t rewarded with any extra cash.
