With the derby looming, a blow for Man United as Luke Shaw is withdrawn from England squad

Jose Mourinho will be anxiously awaiting an update with the left-back only recently recovered from a horrible leg break.

LUKE SHAW HAS been withdrawn from the England squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Slovakia tomorrow night.

The Manchester United left-back, who is only recently recovered from a horrible leg break sustained in a Champions League tie last year, was not part of the group that travelled to Trnava this afternoon.

A statement from the FA confirmed Shaw had taken any part in training at St. George’s Park this morning.

Sam Allardyce is expected to give an update on the injury when he meets the press later tonight.

Though details remain unclear regarding the extent of the knock, Jose Mourinho will be anxiously awaiting an update.

United face local rivals Manchester City next weekend and may be without Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Antonio Valencia for the clash.

The Armenian picked up an injury while playing for his country on Wednesday and is currently receiving treatment while Valencia has commitments with Ecuador and will only return to Manchester on Friday – the day before City come to Old Trafford.
