'Lukaku better than Diego Costa & will play for a top club soon'

The 21-year-old’s new agent has labelled the forward as the “Paul Pogba of strikers”.

ROMELU LUKAKU IS already a better player than Diego Costa and will become one of the best strikers in Europe, according to the Everton forward’s new agent Mino Raiola.

The 21-year-old scored 17 Premier League goals during his season-long loan at Everton last season but after sealing a permanent €35 million move from Chelsea in the summer, the Belgium international has found the net just eight times in 29 league appearances this term.

Costa, meanwhile, has scored 19 goals in 22 Premier League appearances for Chelsea this season following his €40m arrival from Atletico Madrid.

“If we had met each other earlier, he wouldn’t have played for Everton. Maybe somewhere else, maybe he would still be at Chelsea,” Raiola told Sudpresse.

“I want to be clear: Romelu is a better striker than Diego Costa and could have done the same as the Spaniard did this season.”

Raiola, who also represents Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Mario Balotelli, has labelled Lukaku as the “Paul Pogba of strikers” and has backed the striker to eventually join a Champions League club.

“I do not know if you realise his immense qualities. He has all the physical, human and technical ability,” said Raiola.

“We often talk about football, but do not forget that this is also someone with a big heart.

“If anyone says that Paul Pogba is the future of the world, then Romelu Lukaku is the Paul Pogba of attackers.

“Yes, he will become one of Europe’s best forwards. I’m not saying this for fun, but when you see all that he has accomplished at a young age, it is only normal. It has already achieved great things while he has not exploited its full potential.

“Later, he will play for a top club like Paris Saint-Germain, the two teams from Manchester, Barcelona or Bayern Munich.”
