CANADIAN POLICE HAVE issued arrest warrants for two Brazilian footballers over the alleged sexual assault of a Toronto woman during the Pan Am Games in July.

The two members of the Brazilian football team โ€” Chelseaโ€™s Lucas Piazon and Andrey Da Silva Ventura of Botafogo โ€” met the 21-year-old victim and another woman at a Toronto nightclub on 25 July and accompanied them to the home of one of the women, where the assault is alleged to have taken place.

โ€œThe victim, once she arrived at home, went to sleep. The men then entered the bedroom and sexually assaulted her,โ€ Toronto police Inspector Joanna Beaven-Desjardins told a press conference.
