More bad injury news for the Cork hurlers before Waterford clash

Lorcan McLoughlin is out of the game with a dislocated shoulder.

CORK ARE ALREADY planning without one regular defender for the season and now another is set to miss their Munster opener against Waterford.

Last night Lorcan McLoughlin dislocated his shoulder in a club game and is likely to be sidelined for the Munster semi-final against Waterford on 7 June.

He joins fellow defender Christopher Joyce – who tore his cruciate in March – on the sidelines.

McLoughlin went off injured in a Cork premier intermediate hurling championship tie for his club Kanturk as they were defeated by Castlelyons last night by 1-16 to 1-13.

Cork radio station 96FM reported that he fell awkwardly in the opening half and had to depart the match as a result.

The news is a setback to Cork boss Jimmy Barry-Murphy ahead of the match as his team try to recover from their heavy league final loss to Waterford.
