LONDON SENIOR FOOTBALL manager Ciaran Deely has named seven championship debutants in his starting line-up for Sunday’s Connacht SFC quarter-final against Mayo at Ruislip (3.00pm).
The team contains four London-born players — goalkeeper Gavin McEvoy, corner-back Philip Butler, midfielder Liam Gavaghan and wing-forward Adrian Moyles — while there are four others on the bench – Sean Hickey, Alfie McNulty, Ciaran Healy and Killian Butler.
McEvoy, Ciaran Dunne, Colin Dunne, Danny Ryan, Cormac Coyne, Eoin Murray and Patrick O’Hara will all be tasting senior inter-county championship action for the first time when they face the Connacht champions this weekend.
Centre-back Ryan is one of three Mayo players — along with full-back Caoimhin Carty and midfielder James Moran — who’ll be lining up against their own county.

Talisman Mark Gottsche, who was part of the London side that almost shocked Mayo at Rusilip in 2011, will lead the attack from centre-forward. Joined by Butler, captain Dave McGreevy and substitute Lorcan Mulvey, Gottsche — a former Galway player — is one of four surviving members of the London team that lost to Mayo in the 2013 Connacht final.
