Jurgen Klopp has described himself as "the normal one".

Liverpool's attempt to trademark Klopp's 'The Normal One' remark

The German coach made the comment at his presentation back in October.

IT APPEARS LIVERPOOL are attempting to cash in on Jurgen Klopp’s ‘The Normal One’ nickname.

The Premier League side, it’s emerged, applied for a European trademark for the phrase after Klopp’s quirky comment at his unveiling as the club’s new manager in October.

Reminded that Jose Mourinho dubbed himself ‘The Special One’ when he was appointed as Chelsea boss for the first time a decade ago, the German coach was asked how he would describe himself.

“I am just a normal guy from the Black Forest,” Klopp responded.

“My mother is probably sat at home now watching this, unable to understand what I am saying, but very proud — I am The Normal One.”

10 days after that remark was made, it’s been revealed Liverpool made an attempt to trademark the phrase.

‘The Normal One’ T-shirts are already available in various places online, although with the trademark, Liverpool would officially be able to paste it over all kinds of products filling the club shop at Anfield.
