Liverpool outcast Sakho joins Crystal Palace on loan

The defender will link up with Sam Allardyce’s side for the remainder of the season.

OUT-OF-FAVOUR Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho has joined Crystal Palace on loan.

The centre-back will remain at Sam Allardyce’s side until the end of the season at least, with the Eagles paying a £2 million fee for his services.

Signed during Brendan Rodgers’ reign by the Reds, the 26-year-old was once considered one of the Premier League’s most promising players, though he has fallen out of favour in recent months.

Meanwhile, Crystal Palace have also announced the signing of midfielder Luka Milivojevic from Olympiacos on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 25-year-old Serbia international moves to Selhurst Park for a fee reported to be in the region of £11 million.

“I am delighted to bring Luka to the club,” manager Sam Allardyce told Palace’s official website.

“He has experience in the Champions League and international football and will add a new dimension to our midfield.

“He is a talented two-footed player with intelligent passing ability as well as being very strong defensively, in and out of possession.”
