Three of Liverpool's former Irish stars given hurling masterclass at Croke Park

AHEAD OF LIVERPOOL’S visit to the Aviva Stadium this evening, three of the club’s former Ireland internationals headed to Croke Park yesterday for a hurling masterclass with Noel Connors.

The Waterford hurler put John Aldridge, Jason McAteer and Phil Babb through their paces at GAA HQ on Friday as Liverpool return to the Irish capital for the first time since 2014.

As well as paying a visit to Croke Park, the trio took time out to meet and greet fans at the Liverpool store in the Ilac Centre.

Jurgen Klopp’s side face Athletic Bilbao at the Aviva Stadium this evening as the Reds complete their pre-season preparations ahead of the start of the new campaign next weekend.

Jordan Henderson hasn’t travelled to the Irish capital because of illness while Daniel Sturridge and Philippe Coutinho miss out through injury.

The game kicks off at 5.15pm and is sold out.
