Liverpool 1-0 Crystal Palace
LIVERPOOL HUFFED AND puffed for long stretches against Crystal Palace before picking up their first win of the new Premier League season.
With no Philippe Coutinho in sight, Sadio Mané once against reminded Reds fans why he should be considered their most precious asset, scoring the winner 17 minutes from time – albeit with a touch of good fortune along the way.

Keeping one eye on next week’s European engagement, Jurgen Klopp made five changes to the side that beat Hoffenheim, including a debut for Andy Robertson at left-full – an opportunity which the Anfield new boy seized with gusto.
Coutinho, who may or may not be a Barcelona player by the time the transfer window closes, was ruled out with a back injury.
But in his absence, it was the familiar face of Mané that once again delivered at a time when Liverpool looked to be in danger of squandering more home points.
Driving in from the left, he took advantage of a few fortuitous ricochets before finishing past Wayne Hennessey in the Palace goal in the 73rd minute.
Hennessey was by far the busier of the two keepers throughout, though Palace will look back on a couple of chances of their own — not least the one which fell to former Reds striker Christian Benteke when the sides were still level.
Benteke came back to haunt his old club when the sides met last season but after brilliant play from Ruben Loftus-Cheek to create the opening, the Belgian sidefooted his effort high and over the bar from six yards out.
