THREE DAYS AFTER Manchester United visit the Aviva Stadium, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will finalise their pre-season preparations with a friendly against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin.
The fixture, which will be Liverpool’s first in Ireland in three years, has been confirmed for Saturday 5 August with a 5.15pm kick off.
With the new Premier League campaign starting the following weekend, the game will mark the end of a busy pre-season period for the Reds which sees them play fixtures in Hong Kong and Germany before visiting Dublin.

Liverpool last played at the Aviva Stadium in May 2014 when they beat Shamrock Rovers 4-0 while they also faced Celtic at the Lansdowne Road venue the previous summer.
“We always get such an amazing reception in Dublin,” Liverpool club ambassador Ian Rush said.
“Even though this is a friendly game, I’m sure our incredible Irish supporters will make the atmosphere just as good when we meet Bilbao this time around.”
It will be the second friendly fixture played at the Aviva Stadium in the space of three days with Man United scheduled to face Italian outfit Sampdoria on Wednesday 2 August.
Tickets for Liverpool’s visit go on sale to the general public on Friday 2 June from 11am.
