Pepe Reina has an eye injury so Brad Jones comes in for Liverpool against Norwich, while Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez start up front together for the first time.

Manchester City have a stronger bench than the first teams of most of their Premier League rivals (Nasri, Balotelli and Aguero to name but three), while James McClean has been dropped for Sunderland’s trip to Wigan.

Meanwhile, back at Anfield, Robert Snodgrass crosses but Ryan Bennett’s easy header is straight at Brad Jones.

Just 14 minutes into his debut for Harry Redknapp’s side, and Loic Remy has his first goal for the Hoops. The new arrival coolly slots home an inch-perfect Adel Taarabt pass, a beautifully held run by the Frenchman.

Goal – Wigan 1-1 Sunderland

Referee Anthony Taylor does nothing to ingratiate himself with the home support, as one of the Wigan players is unfairly adjudged to have handled a free-kick by Sebastian Larsson. The penalty is awarded, and Craig Gardner obliges.

Goal – Wigan 1-2 Sunderland

Steven Fletcher’s header from an N’Diaye cross is saved by Ali Al Habsi, but the striker volleys home the scraps. Great game at the DW Stadium.

Goal – Liverpool 1-0 Norwich

Norwich squeeze Luis Suarez out but the ball deflects to Jordan Henderson, who absolutely smashes it past Mark Bunn on the volley. That’s Henderson’s first Premier League goal of the season, and just his fourth for Liverpool.

Nothing. Repeat, nothing. Has happened between Swansea and Stoke at the Liberty Stadium.

Loic Remy has scored his first goal in English football, and here it is.

Goal – Liverpool 2-0 Norwich

Daniel Sturridge lets Henderson’s forward pass go through his legs and on to Luis Suarez, who squeezes the ball expertly past Bunn. Fine finish from the Uruguayan.

Goal – Newcastle 1-0 Reading

Whatever Remy can do, it appears Yohan Cabaye can do even better. The Newcastle midfielder has been out for two months but he marks his return with an absolutely glorious free-kick.

Angel Rangel could be our new favourite player, and the Swansea full-back almost has an assist to his name. Michu heads his Spanish colleague’s cross wide against Stoke when it looked so much easier to score.

Goal – Wigan 1-3 Sunderland

Steven Fletcher had not scored in five games, and now he has two. Economy of movement for the oldest looking young Scotsman since Charlie Adam, and the Black Cats are running away with this.

Henderson out to Downing on the right, Downing crosses for Daniel Sturridge to score his third goal in three games for the Reds. Impressive poaching from the former Chelsea, but there’s no need for the celebratory jig.

Jonathan de Guzman puts Michael Laudrup’s side in control at the Liberty Stadium. Nice.

Chamakh has been replaced by Carlton Cole for West Ham. Has there been a worse Premier League striker than the Moroccan?

Glen Johnson cuts inside from the left and finds Steven Gerrard, who scores his sixth of the season. A typical Gerrard goal, cracked in from distance. A good day to be a Liverpool fan.

Matt Jarvis stands up a fine cross which Julio Cesar palms into the path of Joe Cole, who scores his first Hammers goal in ten years.

Great play from Carlos Tevez, who plays in David Silva and the Spaniard dinks the ball over Schwarzer. That’s Silva’s first double for City.

Goal – Newcastle 1-1 Reading

It is not a thing of beauty, but Adam Le Fondre has just scored his fourth goal in three games for Reading.

Goal – Liverpool 5-0 Norwich

Raheem Sterling, on as a sub for Sturridge, dispossesses Michael Turner (how anyone could be bullied by Sterling is beyond me, but I digress) and the youngster’s pass/shot across goal is deflected in by Ryan Bennett for a probable own goal.

Liverpool have now scored five against Norwich for the second time this season.

He’s been on the pitch for six minutes, and he’s scored twice…

Reading have never even taken a point at St James’ Park in the past, but Le Fondre now has his second of the game. Looks like Reading could be heading out of the relegation zone.

Angelo Henriquez scores his first goal since moving to the DW Stadium on loan from Manchester United, and Wigan could be back in this.
