As it happened: Maribor v Liverpool, Real Madrid v Tottenham, Champions League

It was another busy night of Champions League action.

Kick off for the games is at 7.45pm.

Here are three of tonight’s four teams (no sign of the Mariborn line-up yet).

We’re under way…

MARIBOR 0-1 LIVERPOOL (FIRMINO 4)

Salah finds space down the right.

His cross finds Firmino, who slots the ball into the empty net from close range.

Real go very close!

Ronaldo’s header hits the post, Benzema fires the rebound wide.

MARIBOR 0-2 LIVERPOOL (COUTINHO 13)

Milner gets to the by-line and his cutback finds an onrushing Coutinho, who makes no mistake with his finish.

This could be a long night for Maribor.

Milner again finds space down the right. Firmino gets on the end of the cross, but his flick goes wide.

Moments later, Moreno shoots into the sideline.

Maribor are a shambles at the back — Liverpool in particular keep finding acres of space down the home side’s left.

Aurier finds space down the right, but his cross goes straight into the keeper’s arms.

Tottenham have yet to really get going at the Bernabeu, with Real largely dominating the play.

MARIBOR 0-3 LIVERPOOL (SALAH 20)

Firmino plays through Salah, who finishes coolly.

This is far too easy for Liverpool.

Kane gets on the end of the corner, and his downward header forces Navas to make a decent save.

Better from Tottenham.

Strong calls for a Tottenham penalty.

Llorente goes down under a challenge from Casemiro, but referee ignores Spurs’ claims.

The Real defender was lucky to get away with that.

Viler evades his man and at least gets a shot on target for Maribor.

Karius saves his attempt relatively comfortably though.

REAL MADRID 0-1 TOTTENHAM (VARANE OWN GOAL 30)

Spurs have been the better side in recent minutes and probably just about deserve to be ahead given that they should have had a penalty earlier.

Aurier, who’s been a regular threat, crosses into the box. Kane and Varane are in close proximity and it’s not certain which of the two gets the final touch, but what’s important is that it goes past Navas into the net.

The official TV pictures are calling it a Varane OG, and the more replays were shown, the more that looked to be the case.

Ronaldo throws an arm in the vicinity of Vertonghen and gets booked as a result.

The Belgian defender made the most of that.

Coutinho’s shot from just inside the box deflects safely into the keeper’s arms.

With the game all but over, not much has been going on in Maribor of late.

MARIBOR 0-4 LIVERPOOL (SALAH 40)

Liverpool again get in behind Maribor.

Moreno is played through by Coutinho and the former’s cross leaves Salah with an easy tap-in.

REAL MADRID 1-1 TOTTENHAM (RONALDO 43)

Kroos is brought down and Ronaldo convincingly scores the ensuing penalty to level the scores.

HALF-TIME: MARIBOR 0-4 LIVERPOOL

HALF-TIME: REAL MADRID 1-1 TOTTENHAM

It was Auerier who brought Kroos down for the penalty by the way.

1-1 is probably a fair half-time score on the balance of play.

In Slovenia, meanwhile, 4-0 to Liverpool is also a pretty fair reflection as to how that match has panned out.

The second half is under way…

Lovren somehow doesn’t get a penalty after Rajčevič’s high boot as the Liverpool defender goes to head the ball.

Moments later, Wijnaldum gets on the end of Firmino’s cross, but the Dutch midfielder’s finish is cleared by a defender protecting the goalline.

MARIBOR 0-5 LIVERPOOL (FIRMINO 55)

Firmino flicks on Coutinho’s free kick into the net.

Maribor have done the opposite of parking the bus this evening, and they’ve been made to pay for it.

Oxlade-Chamberlain is getting some game time with the three points in the bag.

He replaces Salah, who has been very influential tonight.

That’s either very good or a very lucky save from Lloris.

The French goalkeeper stops Benzema’s header from close range with his legs.

Real Madrid are growing increasingly dominant.

Kroos has just gone close to putting them ahead, after linking up with Modric.

Lloris makes a good save to tip over Ronaldo’s powerful drive.

Real are well on top at the moment.

Ronaldo shows good pace to escape the defender before forcing Lloris to parry a shot.

The Portuguese superstar has looked especially lively in recent minutes.

Liverpool have completed 514 passes compared to 197 for Maribor.

It must be one of the most one-sided games they’ve been involved in for quite some time.

Llorente plays Kane through.

However, Navas gets a touch to turn the English striker’s attempt just wide.

Solanke has replaced Wijnaldum for Liverpool.

As I type a clearance goes straight to Oxlade-Chamberlain, and his powerful strike is parried out for a corner.

Llorente heads down the ball for Eriksen, whose shot is parried wide by Navas.

Spurs are suddenly starting to look revitalised in recent minutes.

Isco finds space, but his shot is comfortably saved by Lloris.

This has been a very entertaining game to watch.

Good news for Spurs fans, as Danny Rose makes his return.

He replaces Llorente, who has looked decent tonight and set up a couple of near misses.

MARIBOR 0-6 LIVERPOOL (OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN 86)

Oxlade-Chamberlain sprints through on goal, before producing a composed finish.

It has felt like a training exercise at times.

MARIBOR 0-7 LIVERPOOL (ALEXANDER ARNOLD 90)

Alexander Arnold’s shot from the edge of the box finds the net via a deflection.

When Liverpool are on form, they can really destroy teams.

FULL-TIME: MARIBOR 0-7 LIVERPOOL

Son has replaced Sissoko, as Tottenham search for a winner.

We’re in stoppage time…

FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 1-1 TOTTENHAM
