That’s it from me for now. Thanks for reading and commenting.

So that’s that.

It was dire to watch at times, but United ultimately secured the win they needed to progress.

The result, against an average enough Swiss side, is unlikely to silence Mourinho’s critics, but it is something to build on at least.

FULL-TIME: MAN UNITED 1-0 YOUNG BOYS

Fellaini has rescued United.

A long ball is flicked on by Lukaku, and the midfielder shows a good touch to control it before producing a clinical finish.

There will be three minutes of stoppage time…

United fans are leaving now.

This match has been a wretched watch.

The frustration is growing around Old Trafford.

Luke Shaw tries to hurry up a Young Boys player, who is trudging slowly off the pitch as he is substituted.

Fellaini heads down Pogba’s long ball, but Mata’s subsequent strike goes well over.

It seems United will be using the Belgian midfielder as the focal point of their attack in the next few minutes.

David de Gea has to make a superb stop to stop a deflected shot from creeping in.

Young Boys are looking incresingly confident, as they grow into this game.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils make a final change, as Juan Mata comes on for Valencia.

United break and Martial gets the ball. He dwells on it too long though, and his shot inside the box is blocked.

The hosts have just looked toothless in attack tonight.

Young Boys make a straight swap.

Right-sided midfielder Christian Fassnacht replaces Sulejmani.

United make two attacking changes.

Pogba replaces Fred and Lukaku is on for Lingard.

Juventus have gone ahead against Valencia in the other group game.

If that score stays the same, a win tonight would see United go through.

There is a weird moment where the goalkeeper fails to deal with a bouncing ball.

It falls to Fellaini, but he hammers a glorious chance well over.

Mbabu finds himself in a decent position but he has only one player to pick out.

The visitors have shown minimal attacking ambition and look happy enough with the 0-0 draw.

The second half has begun…

So half-time and for a game that is important to United’s Champions League hopes, it’s been fairly uninspired stuff so far.

There has been a flatness to the performance and the stadium in general for much of the opening 45 minutes, despite the hosts making a promising start to the match.

United have created the odd half chance, but they’ve generally struggled to open up a stubborn Young Boys backline, with nine attempts on goal and only one on target.

Their opponents, meanwhile, have been diligent while rarely seriously threatening themselves.

HALF-TIME: MAN UNITED 0-0 YOUNG BOYS

Mbabu’s cross finds Sow, whose back-heeled attempt goes a few inches wide.

On the rare occasions Young Boys have got into the final third, they haven’t really had the conviction to capitalise.

Fred picks out Rashford nicely, but the youngster’s wild shot is well off target.

It’s been a pretty disappointing first half from a United perspective.

Rashford goes on a bursting run down the left, but his final ball is poor.

Fred eventually gets the ball on the edge of the box and curls a shot narrowly wide.

Sulejmani finds himself in a very promising position on the edge of the area, but Smalling does well to block the shot.

United are having to do a bit more desperate defending than Mourinho would like at the moment.

The game has hit a bit of a lull in recent minutes.

Neither side has really looked like scoring.

Jesse Lingard finds himself in a promising position on the right wing, but he badly overhits his cross.

Moments later, Rasford’s shot from distance goes narrowly wide.

Young Boys break menacingly, before Jones makes an excellent interception to cut out a through ball.

The visitors are coming into this game more now.

Aebischer gets forward amid a rare Young Boys attack.

However, Fellaini tracks back well to block the cross, before it ricochets off his opponent for a goal kick.

It’s like an attack-v-defence training session right now.

Young Boys are pinned back into their half currently.

United have started well.

Fred’s powerful shot from the edge of the area goes just over.

Big chance for Man United early on.

Rashford is one-on-one with the goalkeeper, but he lifts it over the goalkeeper and over the bar.

We’re under way…
