Interestingly, Pogba seems to be playing in a more familiar position tonight.
With Herrera and Schneiderlin sitting, Pogba will be playing in a more attacking midfield role coming in off the left-hand side — the position where he made a name for himself with Juventus.

Feyenoord have started relatively cautiously.
United have had the better possession and territory so far, with Feyenoord content to sit back and play long balls towards Jorgensen in attack.

Danger for United!
Some nice passing by Feyenoord opens their opponents up and Toornstra gets the ball in a good position out wide, but Darmian is on hand to make a timely interception and concede the corner.

A Berghus attempt is saved with relative ease by De Gea.
Following a slightly nervy start, Feyenoord are growing into this game.
As I type, Bailly makes a good interception to stop Kongolo from getting to the byline.

United have been quite respectful of Feyenoord so far and have defended in numbers at times.
As I type though, they win a free kick from about 30 yards out, but Pogba’s attempt fails to trouble Jones unduly.

Rashford picks up the ball in a decent position, but ultimately gets crowded out as he runs at the defence.
Meanwhile, Juan Mata is currently limping after a heavy challenge on him.

Big chance for United.
Darmian gets in behind Feyenoord’s defence. His cross finds Martial, who fires the ball narrowly wide from the edge of the box.

Half-time, and it’s been an ordinary enough match so far.
Aside from that one Martial opportunity, United have struggled to create clear-cut opportunities.
Feyenoord have had more possession and territory, and have had some joy out wide, with Rojo looking suspect in the visitors’ defence, but like United, the hosts have rarely looked like scoring.
There hasn’t been too much in the game, so 0-0 is probably a fair half-time result.
So that’s that. It was a poor performance from United, who looked sluggish and short on creativity tonight.
Neither side threatened much, and Jose Mourinho substituting his front three after just an hour was telling.
Feyenoord, meanwhile, like United didn’t create much, but they capitalised when the opportunity came their way, with more than a hint of offside about the winner.

We’re underway…

After some lively moments early on, this game has hit a bit of a lull in recent minutes.
United have looked solid, but aside from that Martial chance, have created little of note.

BT Sport’s Owen Hargreaves says Man United need to “up the intensity, the game’s there to be won”.
So far though, this game has reinforced some of the more negative preconceptions of the Europa League, with neither side looking at their best.
Kongolo, who has regularly looked a threat so far, gets forward well down the left and crosses for Toornstra.
However, the Dutch attacker’s finish is poor, as he fails to hit the target from the edge of the box.
A decent and sustained exchange of passes from Feyenoord ends with Berghuis being ruled offside.
The Dutch side are ending the first half strongly.
HALF-TIME: FEYENOORD 0-0 MAN UNITED

Half-time, and it’s been an ordinary enough match so far.

There hasn’t been too much in the game, so 0-0 is probably a fair half-time result.
The second half is underway…
The second half has started in a similar manner to the first.
Feyenoord have begun brightly, and are forcing United players back into their own half.
Pogba does well to evade the defender but then blasts a shot well over from about 30 yards out.
It hasn’t been the French midfielder’s night so far.
El Ahmadi shoots just wide from the edge of the box.
There’s a lack of intensity about United’s performance tonight. They’ve definitely played this game in second gear.
Ibrahimovic, Young and Depay are coming on for Man United, replacing Martial, Mata and Rashford.
This game needs a bit of inspiration.
Ibrahimovic is involved early, as he wins a header in the Feyenoord box, but he’s penalised for fouling the defender while doing so.
Feyenoord make a change, as Basaçikoglu replaces Berghuis.
It’s a bit of a surprise, as the former Watford man has looked like one of the home side’s brightest attackers.
The crowd grow louder as Feyenoord launch another attack, but again, it comes to nothing as United get bodies back to quell the danger.
Both sides have lacked sharpness and been far too ponderous in the final third tonight.
Basaçikoglu gets away from Rojo, before shooting narrowly wide from just outside the box. That would have been some introduction for the substitute.
Mourinho, meanwhile, does not look happy on the sideline.
United are finally starting to up the tempo.
Ibrahimovic heads just wide, before Depay blasts a shot well over from a promising position.
FEYENOORD 1-0 MAN UNITED
Jørgensen, who looks in an offside position, finds space on the right, and his perfect cross is expertly converted by the onrushing Vilhena.
Ironically, that goal has come when Man United were having probably their best spell of the match.
Realising they might lose, Man United are finally starting to play with real urgency, as Feyenoord attempt to hold on.
This feels reminiscent, in some ways, of the Serbia-Ireland game.
Chris Smalling is now a makeshift centre forward, while Schneiderlin has moved to centre-back.
As I type, the ball falls to Ashley Young inside the area, but he scuffs his shot wide.
Three minutes of added-on time for United to equalise.
The visitors scarcely deserve a point for their performance.
FULL-TIME: FEYENOORD 1-0 MAN UNITED
