Everton have won their last three successive home matches in the league against Man United.

Ireland’s James McCarthy was at the heart of their victory last time out.

Everton have been draw specialists in the Premier League so far this season.

The Toffees have lost just once in eight matches, however, they have won just one of their last six matches at Goodison.

We’re underway…

Rooney has started centrally while Martial is on the wing.

The England international is without an away league goal in 11 months.

Good work from Herrera, who nutmegs Jagielka, before Galloway takes him down.

However, Jagielka then makes up for his error by clearing the subsequent free kick.

United have started well. Martial has just had a run at the defence, but Seamus Coleman does well to retrieve possession and alleviate the threat.

The visitors have dominated possession and territory, though Lukaku is looking dangerous on the counter attack.

There’s a sense of nervousness in the United defence, as a long ball is played up towards Lukaku.

Smalling eventually does well to get a headed clearance in, after the big striker threatened to outmuscle him, and pinned him back with his strength.

Clumsy tackle from Schneiderlin to bring down Naismith on the edge of the area.

Everton are coming more into this game now.

Everton and Manchester United players join in a minute’s applause before the game for former Everton manager Howard Kendall, who passed away earlier today.

MAN UNITED 1-0 EVERTON (SCHNEIDERLIN  17)

It’s advantage United, as Schneiderlin scores his first league goal for the club.

A set piece is not really dealt with by the Everton defence, and it falls to Schneiderlin, who slots the ball into the corner of the net.

Everton claim there was a foul on Naismith by Rooney in the build up, but the referee ignores these claims.

MAN UNITED 2-0 EVERTON (HERRERA 25)

Superb play by United. Rojo gets it on the left and delivers it to Herrera, and the Spaniard, who is completely unmarked, heads home.

Where did the Everton defence go there?

Herrera’s effort was United’s first headed goal of the season.

Meanwhile, Lukaku gets to Coleman’s deep cross ahead of De Gea, but he can’t quite head it on target.

James McCarthy looks very frustrated right now.

He’s made more than one crunching tackle in recent minutes.

Everton just aren’t sharp enough in the final third right now.

Naismith receives it in a good position from Coleman on the edge of the box, but Smalling promptly robs him of possession.

Positive play from Galloway, who bursts pass Mata.

However, the youngster’s cross is well read by Smalling, who clears it for a corner. The England defender has been exceptional so far.

The Everton crowd are getting very frustrated now.

Jagielka has the ball on the edge of the box, but ill advisedly curls a shot well over the bar.

Rooney beats the Everton offside trap and squares it to Martial, but the youngster’s shot is cleared off the line by the covering Everton defender.

The longer this game goes on, the more risks Everton will need to take, which will clearly lead to more chances for United to expose their opponents on the counter.

Decent attempt from Barkley, whose shot from a tight angle is palmed away by De Gea.

Everton are still playing with a degree of positivity and don’t look totally out of this game yet.

HALF-TIME: EVERTON 0-2 MAN UNITED

So at half-time, Man United are looking comfortable with a 2-0 lead.

The Red Devils have delivered a professional performance, clinically exposing inept Everton defending with two quick-fire goals.

Since then, the visitors have sat back and Everton have enjoyed some decent spells of possession.

However, the Toffees have rarely looked capable of breaking Man United down, and have a mountain to climb to get back in this game in the second half.

The second half has begun.

Everton are playing two up front in the second period, it seems, as Kone has replaced Naismith.

Half a chance as Smalling gets a touch on a free kick that just takes it away from a lurking Lukaku.

It could be a busy half for the England defender.

Big chances for Everton.

Kone and Lukaku link up well, with the former mis-hitting the ball, before Barkley fails to connect with Coleman’s inviting cross.

Everton have noticeably upped the tempo now.

You get the sense that the next 15 minutes will be key to deciding the outcome of this game.

Good save from De Gea to deny Lukaku, after excellent build-up play by Everton.

The Toffees are well on top now, and the crowd have really come alive.

Barkley has been taken down by Schneiderlin.

There’s been a lot of cynical fouling in this game. The referee perhaps needs to be less lenient.

De Gea makes another good save from a deflected free kick, before McCarthy’s follow up is deflected wide.

MAN UNITED 3-0 EVERTON (ROONEY 63)

Jagileka concedes possession in a dangerous area, and Herrera plays it through to Rooney, who finishes calmly past Howard.

That’s surely game over now.

The game has inevitably hit a bit of a lull now.

Everton know they surely can’t win it, while the pressure appears to be off Man United.

Good block by Smalling to deflect Coleman’s attempt over.

Shortly thereafter, Barkley’s deflected effort is well saved by De Gea.

Jagielka is caught out again, as Rooney outpaces him, but this time, Howard gets down well to deny the striker.

Everton need to be careful they aren’t completely torn apart now.

Decent ball in from Coleman, but no one is there to convert it.

Meanwhile, Lennon — who has been disappointing today — is replaced by Deulofeu, while Carrick comes on in place of Schweinsteiger for United.

This looks set to be United’s first win at Goodison Park for four years.

Ander Herrera needs to shoot more often.

The ball falls to Jesse Lingard, who can’t quite connect with his shot and screws it wide from the edge of the area.

It’s been a solid display from the youngster, who replaced Mata at half-time.

Howard makes a good block to deny Martial.

The youngster has done well in the position wide on the left, where he also played for France during the week.

Excellent effort from Barkley, who clips the bar with a dipping free kick.

Meanwhile, Fellaini is making a cameo against his former club, as he replaces Herrera for the final 10 minutes.

Goodison is very quiet now.

Man United have a corner, and look set to play this out comfortably.

Everton will have three more minutes before they are put out of their misery, according to the fourth official.

Great play again from Martial who outpaces Seamus Coleman, but Everton manage to clear his dangerous cross.

The Frenchman has looked just as impressive out wide, as he tends to be up front for United.

FULL-TIME: EVERTON 0-3 MAN UNITED

So that’s that. Man United ultimately secure a convincing 3-0 win over Everton.

The Toffees briefly rallied in the second half, before Rooney effectively ended the game with his first away league goal in almost a year.

United looked solid at the back, with Chris Smalling excelling, while punishing some basic Everton errors at the back.

The win is a significant boost for Louis van Gaal’s side, following the demoralising 3-0 loss to Arsenal, and ahead of next week’s crucial derby with City.

Right, that’s all from me for now. Thanks for reading and commenting.
