Right folks, we’ve got our flask full and the sandwiches are made.

We’ll need every last crumb because, as you can see from the fixture list above, we’re taking you the length and breadth of the country today to keep you bang up to date with all of this afternoon’s club championship action.

First on the cards will be Dingle v St Kieran’s and  Navan O’Mahony’s v Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the SFC semis in Kerry and Meath respectively. After that, the updates will be coming in thick and fast.

Throw in: They’re underway at Austin Stack park and Dingle will be playing with the wind in this first half.

2 mins: St Kieran’s 0-1 Dingle 0-0.

Tom McGoldrick has started brightly for Kierans. First he opened the scoring and then was fouled within scoring ditance. However, his free was dropped into the square and Dingle are able to clear.

6 mins. St Kieran’s 0-3 Dingle 0-1

Paul Geaney responds to Kierans early dominance with a fine score from play. but a high effort from distance by Eamon John has restored Kierans’s lead despite playing against the wind.

GOAL: St Kieran’s 0-3 Dingle 1-1

Michael Geaney capitalises after a defender dwells on possession and breaks clear through on goal. He makes no mistake, blasting his shot into the back of the net.

14 mins: St Kierans 0-4 Dingle 1-1

We’re level midway through the first half. st Kierans register another score from play, making light work of the supposed wind disadvantage.

… but as I write a penalty is awarded to Dingle. Paul Geaney drageed down inside the square and

GOAL: St Kierans 0-4 Dingle 2-1

And it’s Daithi Geaney to provide another thumping finish from Dingle, this one from the spot.

GOAL: St Kierans 0-4 Dingle 3- 1

There’s goal number three for Dingle, and it’s Geaney again!! Paul again. he reacted quickest after Phil Galvin was stripped of the ball and the Dingle man stabbed the finish home with his toe.

But immediately, Dingle give St Kevins a lifeline as Ed Walsh is rugby tackled in the square. This one is threatening to boil over.

Tom McGoldrick, however, opts for placement instead of power and it’s SAVED!

HALF TIME Navan O’Mahony’s 0-04 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-07

Donaghmore/Ashbourne dominated the opening quarter of this game, leading by 0-5 to 0-2 ad one stage before O’Mahoney’s clawed their way back into he game.

HALF TIME: St Kieran’s 0-5 Dingle 3-1

As we await a flurry of throw-ins, the SFC semi-finals in Kerry and Meath are back in full swing with the second half.

Navan O’Mahony’s 0-06 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-07

Barry Regan has landed a fine score from distance to get Navan O’Mahoney’s on the front foot in the second half. Can they push the momentum in their favour now?

It looks like it, because Shane Gillespie has just launched another ditant shot. This one is from play, but the result is the same, between the posts.

Just a point in it now.

Navan O’Mahony’s 0-06 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-08

Kieran Ellis ensures Donaghmore Ashbourne’s lead won’t be whittled away too freely.

St Kieran’s 0-6 Dingle 3-1

Despite conceding three goals, St Kierans are sticking to the task manfully and are still chipping away with single scores. The latest from play coming after another Dingle defender was stripped of the ball.

Navan O’Mahony’s 0-08 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-08.

And O’Mahony’s have drawn level. all to play for in Pairc Tailteann in the final quarter of this game

St Kieran’s 0-7 Dingle 3-1

St Kieran’s 0-8 Dingle 3-2

A vital score for Dingle, a free from Paul Geaney. Just their second point of the game, but St Kieran’s hit straight back again, O’Donoghue fouled en route to goal. no advantage given, so the free-kick is handed to James Walsh and he converts a handy one.

Six minutes to go in Navan and the side with home adantage have timed their run well, overturning Donaghmore Ashbourne’s early advantage.

Navan O’Mahony’s 0-09 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-08

Down in Kerry, Dingle look to pulling away thanks to frees from Joe Sheehy and Paul Geaney. But Kierans just will not lie down Seams Scanlon with one of two points from play and a free.

10 minutes left on the clock.

Dingle  3-04 St Kieran’s 0-11.

Navan O’Mahony’s 0-10 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-09

We’re in stoppage time in Navan and the game is still on a knife-edge.

Navan O’Mahony’s 0-10 Donaghmore/Ashbourne 0-09

Donaghmore/Ashbourne supporters thought they had won it as the ball found it’s way to the net. But the referee sees it as a ball thrown into the net. No goal.

St Kieran’s 0-14 Dingle 4-5

Down in Kerry we had a breathless finish as Dingle flooded defenders back to defend their lead

Billy O’Connor struck a fourth goal for Dinlge midway through this second half.

FULL TIME: St Kieran’s 0-14 Dingle 4-5

Dingle move the ball upfield and hold on for the win. 14 scores to nine, but Dingle’s forwards had the eye for goal.

We’re 12 minutes into the Wexford SHC where Des Mythen has just put Oulart-the-Ballagh ahead for the second time.

Oulart-the-Ballagh 0-2 Faythe Harriers 0-1

The quite awesome @DingleGAA manages to some up the emotion very succinctly.

Time for throw-in in the second Kerry SFC semi. Any chance for Laune Rangers against Dr Crokes? They think so.

Half time in the Wexford SHC flew by. Oulart, took a one point lead in at the break, but Harriers instantly levelled matters with the first attack of the second half.

However…

Rory Jacob fires in the first maximum score of the game to put Oulart in control after five minutes of the second half.

Throw-in: The Monaghan SFC final is off and running and Clontibret are making the early running against Ballybay.

HALF TIME: Tuam Stars 0-5 Salthill-Knocknacarra 0-5

No separating the sides in the rain-sodden Galway SHC final.

In the Kerry SFC semi final Dr Crokes have fired an incredible 10 wides. But they still lead, Colm Cooper bringing his tally to three.

Dr Crokes 0-6 Laune Rangers 1-1

The Tipperary SHC final is level. Seamus Cllanan with a goal from Drom & Inch

Drom-Inch 2-13 Thurles Sarsfields 1-16

Kilmacud Crokes 2-4 Cuala 0-6

Wolfe Tones now running away with the Meath SFC semi-final with only seven minutes to go, the score is.

Seneschalstown 0-10 Wolfe Tones 1-12.

Still no separating the best teams Galway have to offer:

Tuam Stars 0-6 Salthill-Knocknacarra 0-6

More good, intense football from Ballybay They’ve picked up where they left off in the first half as Hugh Malone tags on a score to make it;

Ballybay 1-6 Clontibret 0-3

FULL TIME: Thurles Sarsfields 1-21 Drom & Inch 2-15

Sarsfields withstand a late fightback from Drom and they take the Tipperary SHC title.

Well, it was fun while it last for Laune Rangers, but as expected, Dr Crokes march on to the Kerry SFC final on a scoreline of;

FULL TIME: Dr. Crokes 0-14 Laune Rangers 1-3

One way traffic for most of the game.

52 mins: Cuala 0-8 Kilmacud Crokes 2-5

We have a disgruntled commenter, Rache Howe, unhappy that Longford Slasher’s forward progress was halted by the referee who evidently felt a draw was a fair result…

FULL TIME: Emmet Óg Killoe 0-7 Longford Slashers 0-7.

It’s all over in Dublin. Crokes have their first title since 1985.

FULL TIME: Tuam Stars 0-7 Salthill-Knocknacarra 0-12

Three minutes of stoppage time in Galway, but this one was settled long before the whistle. The seasiders, from being level at six apiece stretched their legs in the second half and ran out comfortable winners.

Staying in Connacht, we also have a decision from the Roscommon SFC final.

FULL TIME: St Brigid’s 2-9 Padraig Pearses 0-9

We’re approaching full time in Clones where Ballbay hold  a six point lead over Clontibret…. strike that: ‘held’.

GOAL: Ballybay 1-11 Clontibret 2-5

Clontibret have given themselves a chance of an unlikely draw after a hopeful punt to the square was somehow bundled into the net.

It’s all over in the Monaghan SFC final. ryan Wylie keeps his head and lands an insurance score for Ballybay.

FULL TIME: Ballybay 1-12 Clontibret 2-5.

FULL TIME:  Crossmaglen Rangers 3-9 Pearse Óg 0-11

Just the 40 Armagh titles for Rangers. Jamie Clarke was, predictably enough, amongst the goals.

And so, we’ve whittled the games down totwo. And it sounds like a cracker drawing to a close in the galway SHC quarter final.

55 mins: Portumna 0-14 Turloughmore 0-14

Tourloughmore  had led at half time only to be dragged back into by this talented Portumna side.

GOAL: Cratloe 1-12 Inagh Kilnamona 0-13

McInerney pounces to give Cratloe the lead and it could scarcely have come at a better time. Just two minutes on the clock.

FULL TIME: Portumna 0-15 Turloughmore 0-17

There it is folks, Portumna are out of the Galway SHC at the quarter final stage.

And last, but by no means least, The Clare SHC semi comes to an end.

FULL TIME: Inagh-Kilnamona 0-14 Cratloe 1-14

Cratloe roar back in the second half after trailing 0-10 to 0-5 at the break. Cathal McInerney with the decisive three-pointer at the death.

That’s it from me folks. We hope at least one of those results leaves you happy on this dank Sunday afternoon.

There was so much action at one time, I hope we managed to get a handle on most of it for you.

What was the shock of the day for you? Portumna (despite 12 points from Joe Canning) falling to Tourloughmore must be right up there.

Good night, safe home.

Here are all the results from yesterday’s GAA club action

I could get over them having wanted to play for England if they were going in fully committed, but the way Bamford seems to be yanking McCarthy’s chain has me seriously questioning him. In or out ffs. We’ve always been technically weaker than other teams but team spirit and commitment has generally been what’s bridged that gap. It can’t be under-valued or taken for granted. If he’s this non-committal, odds are he’s not going to give 100% when he comes in. That’s not to say being born and raised in Ireland is any guarantee of this. Just compare Jon Walters and Stephen Ireland. Bamford really not endearing himself though by ignoring Mick’s calls and the like.

@ScewMadd: totally agree! Whether you like Bamford for not he does have links to Ireland but the “I’ll consider my options” stuff is getting really old.

@ScewMadd: he’s had serious injuries. If Leeds lost him now then it would be disastrous for their promotion bid. Bamford stalling for the moment makes perfect sense. Leeds fans would never forgive him if an injury for Ireland against Gibraltar cost them the promotion they crave

I agree with Kevin Kilbane that Patrick Bamford’s first choice was England, but Ireland aren’t in a position to be picky right now. He’d be a very good addition to the Ireland squad at the moment.

@emmetnichol: reality is vast majority of players would pick England over Ireland if they’ve been born and raised there. Its a more natural choice and u have your agent in your ear telling you how many more zeros on your career earnings it’ll make. Kilbane is the exception. He was immersed in Irish culture since birth.

Granny rule players used to declare for Ireland because it put them in the shop window. If they nutmegged Baggio in a game then that often resulted in a move to Liverpool or Everton a few weeks later.

Today players even in the championship are on such nice money that they don’t need International football anymore to retire wealthy…. So when a great player wants to play International football for us where we pay nothing to them in return, even if they only decided at 25 years old to join, then we should still welcome them with open arms.
