Half-Time! Cork 1-9 Waterford 0-3

Cork 1-9 Waterford 0-3

Time to take a breather after that frantic finish to the first half.

Cork look utterly dominant in this All-Ireland final, with Amy O’Connor and Pamela Mackey both thriving up front for Matthew Twomey’s side. Waterford are just struggling to catch fire so far. Beth Carton has accounted for all of their first-half scores and will be disappointed that she didn’t make more of that opportunity from the penalty spot.

GOAL! Cork 4-9 Waterford 0-3 (O’Connor ’34)

35 mins: Cork 4-9 Waterford 0-3

Hat-Trick for Amy O’Connor.

What a burst from Cork and their inspirational captain at corner-forward. Three goals in almost as many minutes to put Cork all but out of sight.

Full-Time! Cork 5-13 Waterford 0-9

And that’s that!

We knew the result from the first goal in the first half, but Cork have emphatically won this All-Ireland title with a supreme display.

A hat-trick of goals from captain Amy O’Connor, along with further goals from Fiona Keating and Sorcha McCartan put considerable distance between the sides as Waterford were denied any real entry into the game.

Cork 5-13 Waterford 0-9

Amy O’Connor lifts the O’Duffy Cup after a superb display which secures a 29th All-Ireland senior title for Cork.

This is a chastening experience for Waterford but they will surely take heart from the fact that they have brought their county to an All-Ireland final for the first time in 78 years.

Well, that’s all from us folks. Our match report will follow shortly and we hope you enjoyed the coverage today.

Bye for now!
