As it happened: Bournemouth v Liverpool, Premier League

Bournemouth faced Liverpool, as the Reds sought to maintain their unbeaten start.

Hello and welcome to today’s liveblog.

It’s been an incredible start to the season for Liverpool. The midweek win over Everton meant they have now gone 32 top-flight games unbeaten.

They have dropped points just once this season domestically, and could potentially go 14 points clear of reigning champions Man City if they win today and Pep Guardiola’s side lose their big match against Man United later.

Jurgen Klopp won’t be taking anything for granted, though they are facing an out-of-form Bournemouth.

The Cherries are currently 15th in the table and have lost four of their last five matches.

We’re under way…

It’s been all Liverpool so far.

Bournemouth, however, have looked fairly compact with the visitors yet to create a clear-cut chance.

Gomez finds Salah with a good cross.

But Ramsdale makes a fairly comfortable save from the Egyptian’s side-footed effort.

It continues to basically be an attack-v-defence session.

Bournemouth have looked solid so far.

It’s been worryingly subdued from a Liverpool perspective so far.

Klopp took a bit of a gamble making seven changes. Might he come to ultimately rue that decision?

Lovren has kicked the ball nervously out of play, under pressure from Solanke.

Bournemouth have begun to threaten more in recent minutes.

Very close!

Milner plays a lovely one-two with Salah on the edge of the area, before bending his shot inches wide.

Lerma wins the ball before winning a free kick. The midfielder has protected Bournemouth’s backline well so far.

Moments later, Fraser plays through Solanke, but Van Dijk’s well-timed challenge breaks up the attack.

Big worry for Eddie Howe!

Ake makes a great challenge to stop Salah, but he hurts his hamstring as he does so.

Steve Cook and Adam Smith are already injured, so it’s a bit of a defensive crisis for Bournemouth.

Jack Simpson comes on for his first Premier League appearance of the season to replace a disappointed-looking Ake.

BOURNEMOUTH 0-1 LIVERPOOL (OXLADE-CHAMBERLAIN 35)

Out of nothing, Liverpool are ahead.

Oxlade-Chamberlain scores his first Premier League goal for nearly two years.

The former Arsenal man gets on the end of Henderson’s long ball and volleys it into the net.

Ramsdale was arguably at fault there — he could have come off his line quicker.

Liverpool have been boosted by that goal.

Firmino gets a sight at goal, but his shot from the edge of the area is comfortably saved by Ramsdale.

As I type, Gomez is booked for tripping Solanke as he attempts to counter.

Meanwhile, it’s now Liverpool’s turn to make an enforced change.

Lovren goes off injured, with Alexander-Arnold coming on in his place. He will play right-back, with Gomez reverting to centre-back alongside Van Dijk.

BOURNEMOUTH 0-2 LIVERPOOL (KEITA 45)

Liverpool double their advantage, and it’s really all about the brilliant assist from Salah.

He receives the ball from Keita, who follows the pass, and the Egyptian waits a moment before his glorious backheel sends the midfielder through on goal to slot the ball past Ramsdale.

Alexander-Arnold has made an impact since coming on.

The youngster’s cross has just been cleared to safety by Simpson.

HALF-TIME: BOURNEMOUTH 0-2 LIVERPOOL

The second half has begun…

It’s been a fairly uneventful start to the second half.

Liverpool are strolling at the moment, while Bournemouth look deflated.

The ball falls to Keita on the edge of the area.

His volley is close enough to Ramsdale to ensure it’s not an overly difficult save to make for the goalkeeper.

BOURNEMOUTH 0-3 LIVERPOOL (SALAH 54)

It’s Mo Salah’s first Premier League away goal of the season.

Simpson has a bit of a nightmare. He gives the ball away. Keita then plays through the Egyptian, who escapes the attentions of the young defender before producing a composed finish.

Milner produces a great ball to Alexander-Arnold, whose shot hits the side netting.

Bournemouth make a change, meanwhile, as Lewis Cook replaces Philip Billing.

This couldn’t be more comfortable for Liverpool at the moment.

You would expect to see more changes from Klopp soon with their midweek Champions League fixture in mind.

Callum Wilson has picked up an injury and goes off.

Dan Gosling — who is only just back from a long-term injury — comes on in his place.

Bournemouth are offering very little threat as Liverpool continue to control the game.

They look a beaten team who are waiting for the match to end.

Liverpool have had 70% possession and 15 shots to Bournemouth’s three.

They are also winning 7-0 in terms of shots on target.

In other words, it’s been a thoroughly dominant display from Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool make a change.

18-year-old Curtis Jones is on in place of Robertson.

He’ll play in midfield, with James Milner reverting to left-back.

It’s basically damage limitation for Bournemouth now.

They are sitting back and hoping to keep the score down.

They very much look like a team bereft of confidence, as their current form suggests.

Salah almost nips in on goal, but Ramsdale is alert to make a clearance, after an ill-advised backpass.

The Egyptian has had a spark that he’s sometimes been accused of missing of late.

Firmino gets a chance but smashes the ball straight into Francis.

Five more minutes of agony remain for Bournemouth.

As I type, Liverpool make another change, as Oxlade-Chamberlain, who got the first goal, is replaced by Shaqiri.

Shaqiri contributes already.

His cross finds Jones, but the youngster can’t find the target with his volley.

There will be two minutes of stoppage time…
