UCD 0-1 Derry City
Shelbourne 4-0 Dundalk
6 Jul 2012
7:44PM
Welcome along to what is a strangely quiet Friday night of domestic football. Due to the involvement of St Patrick’s Athletic and Bohemians in last night’s Europa League qualifiers and Monaghan United’s exit from the league, just two games will go ahead in the Airtricity League Premier Division.
Derry make the trip to Belfield where they face Derry, while Shelbourne host troubled club Dundalk at Tolka Park. In the First Division, meanwhile, second meets third as Waterford and Limerick clash at the RSC. Read previews and team news here.
Dundalk have not been having the best of times off the pitch in recent weeks and, after staff were not paid last week, the club today released a statement confirming that they have met with FAI and PFAI officials to discuss the club’s future.
Owner Gerry Matthews will not be renewing their licence next season and while the Dundalk FC Community Trust are looking into a possible takeover, the Lilywhites’ continued participation in the Airtricity League is facing some uncertainty.
With 25 minutes played in Dublin 4, the score remains 0-0 between UCD and Derry with the Candystripes looking the most likely to break the deadlock.

GOAL! Waterford 0-1 Limerick (Denis Behan)
The first of the night has been scored and it’s in the sole First Division game, where Denis Behan has put visitors Limerick in front. The Former Cork City and Hartlepool striker fires home after 22 minutes.

Still yet to see a goal in Drumcondra with a half hour of football gone.
6 Jul 2012
8:33PM
GOAL! Shelbourne 1-0 Dundalk (Philip Gorman)
And just as I write that, Shels go and stick one in the net. Dundalk keeper keeps out Philly Hughes initial effort but his strike partner Philip Gorman is on-hand to head in the rebound.
Poor showing at Tolka tonight. No doubt the weather would’ve put a few off leaving the house!

RED CARD – Derry may be leading but they’ll have to play the final minutes with 10 men after Simon Madden is given a second yellow card and his marching orders. Still 1-0.
6 Jul 2012
9:34PM
GOAL! Shelbourne 4-0 Dundalk (Ben McLaughlin)
The sooner the final whistle goes, the better for the Dundalk players. Substitute Ben McLaughlin has put the ball into his own net to make it 4-0.

At the UCD Bowl, the game has just got underway. Here is the team-sheet thanks to the MNS lads.
In case you’re finding that hard to read, they line out like this:

GOAL! Waterford 1-1 Limerick (Peter White)
Super equaliser. Paul Phelan whips in the corner and White powers home a header on 55 minutes.
GOAL! Shelbourne 2-0 Dundalk (Philip Gorman)
Things going from bad to worse for Sean Caffrey’s Lilywhites. It’s that man Gorman with a header again, this time from Gareth Matthews’ delivery.

Another headed goal for Waterford, who take the lead thanks to Mernagh. 25 minutes left in that one.
GOAL! Shelbourne 3-0 Dundalk (Kevin Dawson)
There doesn’t seem a way back for Dundalk, who have just conceded a third, Kevin Dawson finishing off a strong run from midfield.
