LIMERICK INSTITUTE OF Technology (LIT) will face UCD in the quarter-finals of the Fitzgibbon Cup after a seven-point win over Waterford Institute of Technology this evening.
Davy Fitzgerald’s side booked their place in the last eight of the competition with a comprehensive Group C victory and will now host UCD in the knockout stages.
David Dempsey’s third minute goal set the visitors on their way and they didn’t look back having established a 3-6 to 0-9 half-time lead thanks to further goals from Peter Duggan and Shane Bennett.
Paul Killeen and Jason McCarthy continued the scoring after the break as LIT coasted into the next round.
