Inexperienced All Black centre showed the handling skills that make him anything but a weak link

The Pumas could not contain Anton Lienert-Brown on Saturday night.

ANTON LIENERT-BROWN made just his fourth international appearance on Saturday night, five weeks out from the All Black Test against Ireland in Chicago, yet his slick handling skills made him look as accomplished as any midfielder on the top stage.

The 21-year-old scored New Zealand’s opening try in the 36- 17 win by cutting in off a typically smooth, instant Beauden Barrett pass. But it was his own treble of try assists that really helped the world champions turn the screw.

The talented Chief offloaded to midfield partner Ryan Crotty for a 35th minute score when he might have been able to stretch for the whitewash himself and repeated the trick two minutes from the break to let Dane Coles canter in.

The best of the hat-trick of decisive offloads though, was the touchline-dancing, double defender-beating assist for Israel Dagg on 45 minutes. Even in such a narrow corridor, he was confident enough to invite tacklers and send a pass across the face of the last man to create a gift for his fullback.
