RISING LIMERICK HURLING and Tipperary football stars have been honoured with the Opel GAA-GPA Player of the Month awards.
Limerick’s Cian Lynch from the Patrickswell club won the hurling award while Tipperary’s Steven O’Brien from the Ballina club has claimed the football award.
It was announced this morning that the pair were honoured for their exploits in the month of May.
Lynch was man-of-the-match on his championship debut when he fired 0-3 in Limerick’s Munster quarter-final success over Clare.
He’s now gearing up for their Munster semi-final bout with Tipperary on 21 June.
O’Brien hit 0-6 in Tipperary’s Munster quarter-final success over Waterford last Sunday and will be a key figure as they get set to advance to take on Kerry on 14 June.
The duo follow in the footsteps of May’s award winners, Kevin Moran (Waterford) and Senan Kilbride (Roscommon).
Some loss to cork football but best of luck to him.
And hurling
He has bulked up!
Great if he comes home in the near future not sure if he is going to make it out there at the highest level.
