LIAM MILLER IS heading to America after joining United Soccer League side Wilmington Hammerheads.
The 35-year-old announced he would be leaving Cork City last month and he will now head stateside after signing a contract with the third division club.
The former Ireland, Celtic and Manchester United midfielder spent 12 months in the League of Ireland but says he’s looking forward to the new challenge.

“I am looking forward to the season starting and to success with the Hammerheads,” Miller said. “It will be a new and exciting challenge for me personally.”
Miller has experience of playing abroad after spending three years in Australia during spells with Perth Glory, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne City.
“Liam is a fantastic addition to our roster and the club,” the club’s head coach, Mark Briggs, said. “He brings a wealth of experience from a glittering playing career. Adding a player like Liam shows the direction the club wants to head in.”
His arrival in North Carolina is being heralded as the biggest signing in the club’s history and the 21-capped international as ’one of the most notable players in league history.’
The 2016 campaign begins on 25 March with Wilmington facing Orlando City B in the Eastern Conference.
