It's cranked up for next week — Leo Cullen

“These games at this time of the year — there are going to be no holds barred.”

LEINSTER COACH LEO Cullen says that the weekend results cranks up what is stake at the Aviva Stadium next Saturday evening against arch rivals Munster.

Over 40,000 tickets have been sold for the match and with just seven points between them — Leinster second on 59 points, Munster fourth on 52 — there will be a lot at stake.

“It definitely cranks it up for next Saturday night — and it was fairly cranked up out there,” said Cullen and his side’s 7-6 loss at the Sportsground.

These games at this time of the year — there are going to be no holds barred. Physical encounters and because of the conditions it was difficult to play so both teams were flying into it. It was a good contest.”

He thought they were in a good position when trailing just 7-0 at the interval, having won the toss and played against the strong wind.

But while they got the gap down to the minimum, a late salvo was not enough to secure the win despite several close range surges.

“When we got held up over the line I thought we had scrum dominance at that stage.

“Then we had the couple of scrums on the line that went down and I was hoping for a penalty at that stage but we didn’t get one, so we’ll have to look back at the tape and see what we can do better,” he added.
