Leinster head down the road to Aviva Stadium for Champions Cup quarter with Wasps

The big stage for the big occasion.

THE AVIVA STADIUM will host Leinster’s Champions Cup quarter-final clash against Wasps on the last weekend of March, the province have confirmed this afternoon.

Leo Cullen’s side finished top of Pool 4 to secure a passage through to the knock-out stages of the competition with English Premiership side Wasps now waiting in the next round.

EPCR are due to confirm dates and kick-off times for the last eight ties later this week but it comes as no surprise that Leinster have decided to play their home quarter at the 50,000-seater venue.

The Aviva Stadium has generally been a happy hunting ground for Leinster and this season the eastern province have recorded big wins over Munster in the Pro12 and Northampton in the Champions Cup pool stages at the venue.

Leinster season ticket holders will be able to purchase tickets for the game from 10am tomorrow morning at a 15% discount until Wednesday 1 February.

Tickets will then go on public sale on Tuesday 7 February.

The game will also be live on BT Sport, with the broadcaster showing Leinster’s quarter and the clash between Clermont and Toulon. Sky Sports will show Munster’s meeting with Toulouse and Glasgow’s trip to Saracens.
